Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Trauma and pain give rise to a wide range of emotional and body symptoms that are inaccessible by talk therapy. Brainspotting helps you access and heal by connecting with the area where trauma and upset are stored.

Talk therapy occurs in the neo cortex which is located directly behind the forehead. The neocortex or the rational brain is the verbal part of the brain that helps us understand our feelings and actions and is where we make difficult decisions.
Trauma, distress, and other upsetting events are stored in the non-verbal portion of the brain and can be felt throughout our body. The stored trauma and pain give rise to a wide range of emotional and body-based symptoms. Brainspotting, unlike the traditional talk therapy, helps the person bypass the neocortex and get to the limbic system or emotional brain; sub cortical brain, the brain stem, and the body, where trauma and pain is held.
